General Conditions


The general terms and conditions listed below are applicable to the company Mundo Reader (under its bq brand), which is the owner of the website, along with all devices pertaining to the brand.

The general terms and conditions may occasionally be modified, and will enter into force upon their publication on the Internet. Failure to read them does not grant exemption from any of the liabilities established therein.

Manufacturer’s warranty

All products sold by bq come with an official manufacturer’s guarantee, covering not only any manufacturing defects but also any breakdowns which may occur during the guarantee period.

General terms

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Instruction manuals, software, configuration, content, data or third-party links that are included in the Product or downloaded onto it during installation, assembly or shipping, or which have been incorporated into the Product at any other moment during the chain of delivery or that you have acquired in any other way and via any other means. Mundo Reader does not warranty that its software will meet your needs or be compatible with hardware or software provided by an independent supplier, nor that any software shall be free of interruptions or errors, or that any defect in the software may be rectified or be the object of rectification.
  • Normal wear (including, but not limited to, the wearing of camera lenses, batteries and screens).
  • Faults arising from incorrect handling of the device (including, but not limited to, faults caused by sharp objects, bending, crushing, dropping, extreme temperature, exposure to moisture, etc.).
  • Faults or damage resulting from incorrect use of the Product, including use that contravenes the instructions provided by Mundo Reader (e.g. failure to follow the instructions in the Product User Guide).
  • Presumed faults caused by using the Product with, or in conjunction with, any other product, equipment, software and/or service that is not produced or supplied by Mundo Reader or which is used for non-intended purposes. Faults may be caused by viruses introduced via unauthorised access (i.e. unauthorised by you or by a third party) to services, other accounts, networks or computer systems. Unauthorised access may be gained through hacking, the unlawful acquisition of passwords or similar means.
  • Faults resulting from short-circuiting of the battery or as a result of breakage of the battery seals or cells (or when these show signs of manipulation), or as a result of using the battery in equipment in which it is not recommended for use.
  • Other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Mundo Reader.

Anomalous pixels policy

The screens of our devices are comprised of thousands of pixels. For all devices of this nature, it is impossible that each and every pixel on each and every screen will work perfectly. If efforts were made to achieve this during the production process, the cost of said process would be increased exorbitantly, which would then raise the end price of the product to a level that nobody could afford.

Like any other manufacturer, bq must find a balance between the quality of the end product and its price. Despite the economic burden involved, bq decided to adhere to the stipulations of the EN ISO 9241-303:2011 standard (Class 2), which defines the acceptable parameters for screen quality as follows:

Below is a table containing a list of our products. We have calculated the number of pixels per screen for each product. If the number of dead pixels on your device exceeds the number specified in the table, the screen can be classed as faulty, in which case, please contact our technical support.

Policy on white marks and dust motes

There are certain small imperfections (such as anomalous pixels, dust motes trapped under the surface and marks which are only noticeable when against a white background) which cannot be considered defects, as they fall beneath the threshold of normal visibility and therefore do not affect normal and reasonably ergonomic use of the device.

Although regulations do exist with regard to anomalous pixels (please consult our corresponding policy, above), as yet there is no literature or regulations that can be applied with regard to white marks or dust motes on the screen. In this respect, bq’s policy is to consider the following cases acceptable (as they are not deemed to affect the normal use of the device or the viewing of content on the screen):

  • Up to two white marks, each of less than 1 mm in size.
  • Up to two dust motes, each of less than 1 mm in size.

In both cases, marks or motes of less than 0.1 mm in size will not be taken into account for the above calculations, owing to the fact that they are not visible to the human eye.

In the event the dimensions or total number of white marks or motes exceeds the limits established above, the device will be repaired. If it cannot be repaired, it will be replaced with another device.

General conditions for technical support

Telephone and online support

bq offers telephone and online support for all its products. The office hours for bq technical support by telephone are from 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday (except public holidays). The number for support is +44 20 70 48 01 42. The bq support team follows the holiday calendar for Madrid (city). bq provides online support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, holidays and weekends included.

Repair and replacement

bq undertakes to facilitate the repair of any of its devices within a period of approximately 15 days. While the warranty period is in effect, and if bq's technical team considers that the product cannot be repaired, it will be permanently replaced with another product of similar or superior characteristics and performance, provided the factors preventing its repair are not among those listed as grounds for cancellation of the warranty in the "Warranty" section on the website

Legal action and liability

bq shall not be held liable for the failure to act in accordance with these conditions in the event of force majeure, failures attributable to the customer or in the event of unforeseen action taken by third parties unconnected to the contract.

It is recommended that the customer keep a copy of the data stored on the products he or she has acquired: bq shall not be held liable for any loss of data, files or, in general, any damage arising from the failure to make a security copy of data stored on the products acquired.

Nor shall bq be held liable for the consequences of the incorrect use of any products purchased via its website, or for the violation by one or more users of the rights of third parties as a result of actions carried out on its website.

Protection of personal data

The personal data provided by customers are essential in order to ship orders and generate invoices and warranty contracts. When signing up on the website, customers commit themselves to providing valid personal data.

The personal data provided by customers are processed in accordance with the recommendations of the AEPD (Agencia de Protección de Datos, the Spanish Data Protection Agency) and the applicable legislation in force. bq has been authorised by the aforementioned organisation to obtain, process and use the personal data of its customers, with said data being subjected to computer processing. By providing their e-mail address, customers authorise bq to use this address in order to process purchase orders, facilitate their browsing and the purchase of items and to inform them via said address of notices pertaining to bq, its products and the websites and The personal and/or financial data voluntarily provided to bq as the result of a commercial transaction shall not under any circumstances be divulged or sold to third parties; this data shall only be collected and stored in order to prevent it being accessed by unauthorised persons.

Customers may at any time exercises their right to access, rectify, cancel and oppose their personal data, in accordance with the Spanish and European laws in force.

Intellectual property

The entire content of the website web (including illustrations, text, names, brands, images, videos, etc.) is the property of bq and all rights are reserved, in accordance with copyright and intellectual property rights. Therefore, and in accordance with the Code of Intellectual Property Rights, usage of such is only permitted on a private basis and any other type of usage which does not have the prior agreement of bq (e.g. unauthorised reproduction or download) constitutes an offence which is punishable under the terms of intellectual-property law.

Consequently, any reproduction in whole or in part of the contents of the website by any means and through any medium without the prior and express authorisation of bq is prohibited.

bq does not authorise the copying, publication or distribution of any of the aforementioned content to third parties who are not in possession of the corresponding intellectual property rights. Any fraudulent use of said content shall be considered an offence against industrial and intellectual property rights punishable under the terms of the Spanish Criminal Code.
