The General Conditions listed below are applicable to the company Mundo Reader (under its BQ brand), which is the owner of the website, along with all devices pertaining to the brand.
The General Conditions may occasionally be modified, and will enter into force upon publication on the internet. Failure to read them does not grant exemption from any of the liabilities established therein.
All products sold by BQ come with an official manufacturer’s warranty, covering not only any manufacturing defects but also any breakdowns which may occur during the warranty period.
General warranty terms
This Limited Warranty does not cover:
- User manuals or software, configuration, content, data or third party links, included with or downloaded onto the Product, included during installation, assembly, delivery or at any point in the delivery process, or acquired by you via any other means. Mundo Reader does not guarantee that its software will meet your needs or will be compatible with any hardware or software provided by an independent supplier. Nor does it guarantee any software to be free from interruptions or errors, nor that any defect therein can be rectified or is subject to rectification.
- Normal wear (including, but not limited to, the camera lenses, batteries and screens).
- Faults arising from incorrect handling of the device (including, but not limited to, faults caused by sharp objects, bending, crushing, dropping, exposure to extreme temperature or moisture, etc.).
- Faults or damage resulting from incorrect use of the Product, including any use that contravenes the instructions provided by Mundo Reader (e.g. failure to follow the User Manual for the Products).
- Presumed faults resulting from use of the Product with, or in conjunction with, any other product, equipment, software and/or service which is not produced or supplied by Mundo Reader, or which is used for non-intended purposes. Faults may be caused by viruses introduced via unauthorised access (by you or third parties) to services, other accounts, networks and computer systems. Unauthorised access can be gained through hacking, unlawful acquisition of passwords or other similar means.
- Faults resulting from short-circuiting of the battery or from breaking of (or tampering with) the battery seals or cells, or due to the battery being used with non-recommended equipment.
- Other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Mundo Reader.
Pixel Anomaly Policy
The screens of our devices are comprised of thousands of pixels. For all devices of this nature, it is not feasible for each and every pixel on each and every screen to work perfectly. If efforts were made to achieve this during the manufacturing process, the costs involved would rise exorbitantly, which in turn would increase the end price of the product to a level that no user could afford.
Like any other manufacturer, BQ has to find a balance between the quality of the end product and the price. In spite of the economic burden involved, BQ has decided to adhere to the stipulations of the EN ISO 9241-303:2011 Class 2 standard, which defines the acceptable parameters for screen quality.

White Marks and Dust Policy
Small imperfections, such as anomalous pixels, flecks of dust trapped underneath the screen and marks that can only be seen against a white background, which fall beneath the threshold of “normal visibility”, are therefore not considered as defects, as that they do not affect normal use and reasonable ergonomics of the device.
Although standards for anomalous pixels exist (our pixel anomaly policy is detailed above), there are still no applicable standards or regulations on the presence of white marks or dust flecks on a screen. Under the policy of BQ, the following circumstances are considered to be acceptable, as they do not affect normal use of the device or the visibility of the screen:
- Up to 2 white marks, each less than 1 mm in size
- Up to 2 flecks of dust, each of less than 1 mm in size
Consequently, any marks or flecks of dust less than 1 mm in size shall not be taken into consideration when assessing the condition of the screen, as they are not visible to the human eye.

General Conditions for Technical Support
Telephone and online support
BQ offers a telephone support service for all of its products. To enable us to contact the user, they must select the "We will call you", option that comes up following a self-diagnostic on our website via a form. The hours of service for telephone support are 9am to 3pm (CET) Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. The BQ support team follow the holiday calendar of Madrid city.
Repairs and replacement
BQ undertakes to facilitate the repair of any of its devices within a period of approximately 15 days. While the warranty period is in effect, and if the BQ technical team considers that the product cannot be repaired, it will be permanently replaced with another product of similar or superior characteristics and performance, provided the factors preventing its repair are not among those listed as grounds for cancellation of the warranty in the "Warranty" section on the website www.bq.com.
Litigation and Liability
BQ shall not be held liable for the failure to act in accordance with these conditions in the event of force majeure, failures attributable to the customer or in the event of unforeseen action taken by third parties unconnected to the contract.
It is recommended that the customer keep a copy of the data stored on the products he or she has acquired: BQ shall not be held liable for any loss of data, files or, in general, any damage arising from the failure to make a security copy of data stored on the products acquired.
Nor shall BQ be held liable for the consequences of the incorrect use of any products purchased via its website, or for the violation by one or more users of the rights of third parties as a result of actions carried out on its website.

Personal Data Protection
The personal data provided by customers are essential in order to ship orders and generate invoices and warranty contracts. When signing up on the website, customers commit themselves to providing valid personal data.
The personal data provided by customers are processed in accordance with the recommendations of the AEPD (Agencia de Protección de Datos, the Spanish Data Protection Agency) and the applicable legislation in force. BQ has been authorised by the aforementioned organisation to obtain, process and use the personal data of its customers, with said data being subjected to computer processing. By providing their e-mail address, customers authorise BQ to use this address in order to process purchase orders, facilitate their browsing and the purchase of items and to inform them via said address of notices pertaining to BQ, its products and the websites www.bq.com and store.bqreaders.com. The personal and/or financial data voluntarily provided to BQ as the result of a commercial transaction shall not under any circumstances be divulged or sold to third parties; this data shall only be collected and stored in order to prevent it being accessed by unauthorised persons.
Customers may at any time exercises their right to access, rectify, cancel and oppose their personal data, in accordance with the Spanish and European laws in force.
The entire content of the website web www.bq.com (including illustrations, text, names, brands, images, videos, etc.) is the property of BQ and all rights are reserved, in accordance with copyright and intellectual property rights. Therefore, and in accordance with the Code of Intellectual Property Rights, usage of such is only permitted on a private basis and any other type of usage which does not have the prior agreement of BQ (e.g. unauthorised reproduction or download) constitutes an offence which is punishable under the terms of intellectual-property law.
Consequently, any reproduction in whole or in part of the contents of the website www.bq.com by any means and through any medium without the prior and express authorisation of BQ is prohibited.
BQ does not authorise the copying, publication or distribution of any of the aforementioned content to third parties who are not in possession of the corresponding intellectual property rights. Any fraudulent use of said content shall be considered an offence against industrial and intellectual property rights punishable under the terms of the Spanish Criminal Code.
