The Aquaris C brings the key mid-range specifications to entry-level.
It will be launched exclusively on the Vodafone network.
Madrid, August 7th 2018 – BQ has presented its new Aquaris C smartphone, with which the Spanish tech company is looking to conquer the entry-level range market. The Aquaris C stands out for its design, its specification equilibrium, and the fact that it brings specifications to entry-level that were previously reserved for the mid-range.
The Aquaris C inherits a design of clean and elegant lines, which is characteristic of the Aquaris X family. The 5.45” HD+ infinity display with 2.5D glass boasts a brightness of 450 nits and over 16 million colours, thanks to Quantum Color + technology.
Autonomy and fast charging that set it apart
Autonomy and performance always priorities for BQ. That is why the Aquaris C is one of the few entry-level smartphones with Quick Charge: thanks to the QC 3.0 fast charging technology, the 3000 mAh battery will charge to 50% in just over 30 minutes. It is also one of the few devices in this price range to come with a Qualcomm® processor, specifically a Snapdragon™ 425.
“We Include Qualcomm ® CPUs in all of our smartphones because they provide the best user experience and enable us to meet our strict update policy”, explains Rodrigo del Prado, Deputy General Manager at BQ. The Aquaris C comes with Android 8.1 and will receive Android 9.
BQ has also reinforced an element which is a classic Achilles’ heel for most affordable devices: connectivity. The Aquaris C comes with the latest developments in this area, such as NFC (enabling you to make payments directly from your mobile), fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi® 2.4 and 5 GHz (ensuring faster browsing) and USB Type-C, the latest USB protocol, which is reversible, faster and more powerful.
BQ still makes photography a top priority with the Aquaris C
The camera of the new Aquaris C offers some of the best photographic results in its price range, even under variable light conditions thanks to HDR (auto/HDR+). It boasts a Samsung S5K3L6 13 MP sensor with ƒ/2.0 focal aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) technology, which reduces the capture time. In terms of video, it records in 1080@30fps resolution and comes with Fast Motion and Time Lapse options.
The camera app, as well as being intuitive, offers a multitude of options such as manual adjustment of settings, panoramic mode, burst mode or countdown. The 5 MP front camera boasts front flash for night selfies, ƒ/2.0 focal aperture, quick focus technology and selfie indicator to direct the user where to look) to ensure great results.
Another remarkable feature of the Aquaris C is the sound quality, thanks to the smart amp of the speaker (providing high fidelity audio) and the Bluetooth® aptX™ codec (which prevents distortion in wireless headphones or speakers). It also comes with FM radio and a dual nano-SIM slot.
“As engineers, the entry-level range is always a challenge for us, because it requires highly-balanced specs at a modest price. We are very satisfied with the results achieved with the Aquaris C: it’s our best-ever entry-level device and it supersedes the standards of this range”, explains Rodrigo del Prado.
The Aquaris C will be available in Navy Black and Silver White at €149.90. It is now on sale exclusively at Vodafone, and it will be available later via other operators, authorised points of sale and the BQ online store.
