Madrid, 19 September 2017 – BQ has presented its new Aquaris V Plus and Aquaris V smartphones. Their key features such as the camera, battery life and multimedia experience are what the Spanish tech company intends to leverage to reach young people.
As photography is one of BQ's trademarks, it has equipped this range with Sony 12 MP IMX386 sensors and Big Pixel technology. Thanks to the pixel size (1.25 µm/pixel) and the f/2.0 aperture, the sensor is able to gather more light thus reducing the capture time as well as affording rich contrasts and backlit shots. It also includes ultrafast PDAF and HDR/HDR+ mode. Its 8 MP front camera, with Face beauty mode and Selfie indicator, has an integrated flash.
BQ has focused on the screen and the sound in order to offer an outstanding audiovisual experience to the generation that most consumes multimedia content. The Aquaris V (5.2" HD) and Aquaris V Plus (5.5" FHD) come with 2.5D curved glass, 520 and 570 nits of brightness respectively and ultraresistant NEG Dinorex™ Japanese glass.. Features of note regarding audio are the NXP TFA9896 smart amplifier, earphones with a maximum volume distortion level below 0.006% and the Bluetooth® aptX™ codec that reduces latency and incidents of quality loss typical of traditional codecs.

The Aquaris V range is equipped with NFC technology and a fingerprint scanner, and it will get the Android 8 Oreo update. . The Aquaris V is available for presale starting from €209.90 in a 16GB+2GB RAM or 32GB+3GB RAM configuration. The Aquaris V Plus will be available from November in a 32+3GB RAM or 64+4GB RAM configuration starting from €259.90. They can be acquired in Deep Black and Mist Gold.
Aquaris U2 and Aquaris U2 Lite
BQ has also presented the new Aquaris U2 and Aquaris U2 Lite with which it continues to democratise technology by making their quality specifications accessible to anyone. Both share a careful design, their frames minimised to enhance the prominence of the 5.2" screen with 520 nits of brightness, 2.5D glass and Dinorex™ protection, which prevents scratches and provides impact resistance.
With a 3100 mAh battery and Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 3.0, the Aquaris U2 and Aquaris U2 Lite boast one of the longest battery lives in their price segment. They both have Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 435 and 425 processors respectively, and in addition, the Aquaris U2 incorporates NFC technology. BQ guarantees at least one operating system update for all its smartphones (and not just its flagships), meaning that the Aquaris U2 range will get Android 8 Oreo.
With respect to photography, the 13 MP (Aquaris U2) and 8 MP (Aquaris U2 Lite) rear cameras include HDR/HDR+ while the 5 MP front camera has a flash, Face Beauty mode and Selfie Indicator.
The Aquaris U2 range is available in Carbon Black and Sand Gold, with 16+2GB RAM. The Aquaris U2 (€189.90) is now available for presale and the Aquaris U2 Lite (€169.90) will be available from October.
